      Hello,

I work in very small company and we are 4 people who works on computer with SU and we need pro version. We can't work with single-user license and can't buy network license because we are too few. We can't aford 4 single-user licenses. Really only two of us draw in sketchup and 495$ is about my months salary (eastern europe). If i add a seat to SU it cost extra 790$! There is some solutions how to work legal and without overpaying, because money in other countries is with a differend value?

        Hi:
I believe it is legal to use one license and port it around to each seat. However, you need to check with Trimble on their policy. One source:

        http://www.sketchup.com/buy/licensing.html

There may be other information pages.

But it is allowed to work on one computer at the same time and for one person. I can pay 398 euros, but 2 x 398 = 796 euros, it is simply too much for our enterprise.

And can i use free version of sketchup in enterprise? it is legal?

It is my understanding that you may use the free version of Sketchup in enterprise. Files produced in the free version can be opened in the professional version and vice versa.
The main difference in the free and pro versions is the inclusion of Layout with its ability to output to large format printers.
I encourage you to go to Trimble Sketchup pages and gain a full current understanding. I do believe that you can contact them with any specific questions on the best arrangement for your office.

Jim's Model location plugin still works in the free version. The developers did not remove the function but only the user interface.

I suggest designating one person responsible for Pro duties and then the others using the free version.

...and did not use to use Solid tools too much either until I started to develop my latest tutorials (where you are "supposed" to use them to show the potential - especially against the good, old Intersect tools).
However Solid tools have alternatives, too.

Indeed it is currentlyallowed (or better to say "not forbidden") to use SU Free in a commercial environment - but be prepared that this may change any time. When Google took over and released the first free version (5 "Beta"), it was not allowed. Then during version 6, it was explicitly allowed then this clause was removed in version 7 - although its opposite was not reinstated.

Who knows what comes next - after all, now a company bought SU in order to make profit with it (and not only to use it as a toy) and they can change the TOS any time (for futurereleases of course).

                                  Gai...
