Work flow & scene creation

Were I to design a home and create plans in SU for the home, would I create the model then add the scenes or create the model and scenes as the model is created?
I am assuming the former. -
I would create the model and deal with the scenes afterward.

Dave.. will workflow for a building model change much in the pro version of SU?

No. And if you plan to do your plans and other documentation in LayOut, you'll need scenes in SU.
