looks like the trees are darkening the room inside pretty much?

Yes. They provide excellent shade for the patio.

        Very cool indeed.

Kinda reminds me of the vertical forest in Milan. You may want to rethink the plant material. I don't think you will be able to sustain a full size tree with that much soil. You may get 4-5 years before it dies. Where I live we require 30 cubic meters of raw loam per tree and 15 for shared plantings. I know it sounds like allot. I think you could get away with a large shrub or perennials and have better luck.

          Thanks kajka.

The larger trees are actually very large bushes and have been here for many years before we moved in. I don't know what they are, but they are very common to our region and very hardy. The area they are planted in is soil all the way down. They are about at max size and will not get significantly larger.

You won't happen to know where I can find some 3D impatiens would you? πŸ˜‰

Bryan it is looking very nice, specially with those trees... as you describe them and for your location they remind me mesquite plants, do you know what kind are they???

You know, it's funny, I've lived here for decades and I really don't know what they are.

They are so common that nobody really pays any attention to them except to trim them. πŸ˜†

Odd. Did I post in the wrong thread? I thought I uploaded the update.

Oh well, here's the update. A few more plants and the electrical boxes.

No new additions. Just the reverse view.

Still needs a lot more things added that exist.

Main structure of the mini water wall that will go on one end. The water flows down the center. The center is cover in clear plastic to prevent it from wicking through the gaps.

It is raised by two, 23" tall outdoor metal vases. (yet to be modeled)

Been busy and not very inspired lately. But I've started back on it again and here are the updates! (not anywhere near finished yet, but it's getting there)

This first picture shows the waterwall with the plastic rock waterfall at the bottom with the catch tub underneath.

Oh, it's already been built by my girlfriend. She finished it last year. πŸ˜‰

I will post the real life pictures after I'm done with the model.

We live in a very large rental apartment complex. None of the other tenants have the money or reason to spend any more money than for rent or a few potted plants.

We do get plenty of compliments from those who manage to see it. The foliage and fence provide quite a lot of privacy and shade.

This is what it looks like from the outside.

Bryan, you said before that your rendering skills are low, but honestly, if u produce images like the last ones, you don't have to bother with rendering at all. They are gorgeous! Congratulations to your girlfriend as well.
Do you guys have a small table or something in there? There is a perfect spot between the doors/windows for something like this.

We have a little fold up table. We are not allowed to add "built ins" like that. Everything you see is portable and not attached to the walls or screwed/mortared together.
