Graphics card- recognition
-
Greetings
in the opengl dialogue box , sketchuip doesnt offeror recognize my nvidia graphics card only the standard intel card. How do I change the default so that I may select a different option in the capabilities section. Thank you in advance for your assistanceJeff

Do you have more than one graphics card installed in your computer?

Go to your nvidia settings and make sure that you assign the nvidia card to SketchUp. By default, it is set to use the Intel card.
(I have some screenshots somewhere - I'll try to find them for you if needed)
OK, here they are. Note that my system is Hungarian but hopefully the screenshots and markup still help.
Computer settings > Hardware and sound
nvidia control panel
3D settings > Global settings tab: Here you can set the nvidia card globally
Program specific settings (tab): here you can set it to certain applications (like SketchUp) only

Gaieus_ thank you so much for your quick reply to my question. I followed the steps that you suggested however in the gl settings under capabilities the intel card is the only option presented. I have made the nvidia card the global default. Thanks again, I appreciate your efforts to answer my question
