Google Glass $1500 - go grab a pair
-
Pricey, but innovative....
-
1500 (Taiwan) Dollar = 38 β¬
-
those things look amazing
- or, i can think of some perfect uses for them..
one of which: bluetoothing cutlists to the crew
as is now.. most of my drawing info is transferred either by hand or verbally to the crew.. this process occurs 5-10 times on a daily basis.. it'd be really nice to just push send and have the info go that way.. possibly sending as a dimensioned 2D drawing..some obvious downfalls in doing that but hey.. i'm a dreamer and would rather think of the positives at this stage

If you had to choose between a watch and glasses which has you more stoked?
Though walking around with easily identifiable expensive tech makes you a pretty big target.
Hopefully they'll do an apple and make a JML variant.

we're all gonna look like cyborgs
-
I do like this, but will not be an early adopter, I'll wait for second generation.
@Rich, no need for an iWatch if the time is in your peripheral view.
-
Actually 1500 plus a flight to New York and hotel and all the costs with travel. Google loves the rich. Not our Rich...

.hmmm.. can I try them out first?
but if they were both as good as I could imagine them to be (not just gadgety-- actually useful etc)
I think I'd go with the glasses. -

at first maybe.. the good stuff will start when we actually are cyborgs

Like the Human CentiPad?
-
I had to Google 'Human CentiPad' and now I'm sorry I did.
-
-
Don't watch it....
-
glasses would (could?) be cool companions for drawing apps..
a lot of the info panels etc could be shown there instead of taking up screen space and whatnot. -

i saw the actual movie in a very weird way.. my brother was watching it with headphones and i was busy doing some work stuff but the movie was visible..
very strange to say the least.. -
will apparently tether with any smartphone via bluetooth.. not limited to android..

Google are great. They should buy SU
-
re: that video..
hmm.. not sure if they've really solved the maps problem yet (the problem of looking at your phone maps while driving.. it's sketchy)
at around 1:04 (riding bike up 6th ave), you still find yourself moving your eyes off the traffic in onto something different..
seems like the map should somehow overlay itself onto exactly what you're looking at so there's no need to look away..maybe by gen3 or so..

i actually wish they had a use for it or a desire to see it progress as a general purpose modeling application.
their previous use for the app wasn't a rock solid foundation to begin with..
but if they really wanted to googlize it and throw in their flair etc.. it'd probably be super sweet right now.

Imagine you had two glasses (right and left, and at the same side of the field of view).
That would mean stereo images and 3d models.
SketchUp should by Google Glass.
