Hi, does anyone know where to get more colors and textures than available in the standard SK, I would particularly like to see more wood and metal colors/textures.

Looked at the plugin page but couldn't find anything.

      Thanks,

      Jaco

Sure, here at Sketchucation there are a number of material packs for sale. On this website's navigation menu, click on "Shop" and choose "Materials". There are 2 pages of materials to buy. The HRDI materials are specialized things for rendering and probably not what you're looking for at this point (unless you're doing photo real renders). But any of the seamless material packs would be good.

Also, there are a number of material packs that are free if you are a premium member of the forum, or you can buy them for a price. But if you're going to buy a handful of them, it might make sense to get the premium membership and then you can get them for free, and get a discount on others as well.

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

You can also make your own materials and colors.

As Dave says, and there are many ways to modify the textures you have in SU whether imported or already there, with the edit mode in the materials browser.

That said, I wonder if anyone has some ideas or tutorial on making textures. Parameters to follow. SU vs. Renderer textures. Tiling seamless textures (I have my ways but there must be better ones). Ways to manage texture files.

We have sources for textures listed here: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=486#p3454

Here is one I've used successfully (don't recall if it is listed). A neat website.
