[Request for Plugin] Safety Railings
-
Much of my work involves design and modification of facilities in which there are safety railings at edges, around cut-outs up stairs/slopes.
They are of varied kinds (see attachment):
-
Contiguous β straight
- Contiguous β multiple directions
- Curved
- Round corners with and without separate connectors
- Sharp corners
- With and without lower flat safety toe plate
- Painted Brushed aluminum
- Combined horizontal and slanted (for stairs)
It would be very helpful if a plugin were available that would draw these railings based on input of:
-
Line(s): straight, arc, welded multi-directional straight, straight and sloped drawn in the model
-
Select the line
-
Open the plugin and select from the following options:
-
Tube diameter (2β or 2.5β, default = 2β)
-
Railing height (default = 36β) with intermediate railing at 1/2 the top railing height
-
Number of intermediate verticals (evenly spaced)
-
Sharp or round corners
-
With or without connectors
-
With or without toe-plate
-
Material: Brushed Aluminum or Dark Red
-
Any Ruby guru interested?

I see if I can adapt it to your specs.

could you please enable (in your following plugin) the following behavior for vertical elements:
- obligatorily: posts in the corners;
- the gaps between vertical elements (placed evenly between corner posts) have the value which is closest to defined by user <= in accordance to local regulations
