Is there a plugin that displays North/East/south/West?

Perhaps it's just in Pro but there is a north arrow built into Sketchup. Although you'll have to enable it under extensions.

It doesn't show a north arrow per se. It just shows an orange line pointing north from the origin. By default north is along the solid green axis but with the Solar North tools you can change it.

If you want something more like a traditional north arrow, you should make a component and insert it into your model.

It is actually built in already although hard to see. If you look closely at the axes, you will see that on one side of the origin the line is dotted, and on the other it is solid.
Solid red - East
Dotted Red - West
Solid Green - North
Dotted Green - South
And of course the blue is obvious.
