      Hi Everyone,

      My name is Nick and i've been using sketchup for 4 years and have been researching for 3 years, the city of Bristol uk, 1820-1830 in the Regency period, when it was still the second port and city after London.

      My aim is to historically reconstruct the whole cityscape building by building;

      with twilight render for a then and now historical compendium;

      and for an interactive walkthrough using lightup, unity3d, cgtextures and turbosquid etc.

      I have at my disposal;

      the 43 volume Reece Winstone photo archive of 10,000 photos, 1839-1980,

      a thousand detailed topographical watercolours of the actual period,

      2500 edwardian line drawings'

      hundreds of city archive, plans and maps of the actual period,

      dozens of books, both bought, and 19th century digitised by archive.org and google free abooks,

      access to the bristol city council "know your place" interactive GIS maps overlays.

      I frequently come on sketchucation to improve my knowledge and source out new useful plugins.

        Well good luck on that huge project. Sounds exciting, and an interesting period in British history.

          hi, good luck with such a huge scope, maybe you might consider checking TGI 3D Photo Scan depending on the level of detail your project requires.

            Wonderful! I happened to have lived in Bristol for 6 months and I am quite familiar with it. Makes me wonder how it looked liked back them. I presume Clifton and Cotham weren't there yet (I have to check the building periods of those areas).
            I am halfway in the progress of reconstructing a town in the 1900's. This (with all its details) already took one year of spare time. I am curious about your progress..
