Just the other day someone mentioned this. Some seasoned veterans make the import a component or group and simply trace over--and I am talking about seasoned veterans.
But what has helped me is ThomThom's CleanUp tool, along with Sandbox Drape, and simply tracing over.
Yeah, and CloseOpens as Dave suggested. -
Hi ShrockFab, hi folks.
Keep in mind that SketchUp (SU) has some difficulties in closing very small faces that have one or more edges shorter than about 1/16 inch or 1 mm.
The intricate small details on your fence might pose that problem.
The workaround is to scale the model up to draw larger than real size and then to scale down accordingly when done. A factor of 10 or even 100 may prove sufficient. In extreme cases a factor of 1000 or more might be needed. Remember that SU cannot accept 0.001 as a scale factor. In such a case, you must proceed in 2 steps like 0.1 and then 0.01 or the reverse.
Just ideas.

Ill share with yous what I normally do with sketchup. Thanks for any help and Again I wish to speak with someone knowledgeable. I just have the need for some in depth questions answered and phone works better for me. My number is 717 875 5907, and I will call you of course.
