Very Large Colony Spaceship

For fun, some x-rays.

Looking great.
The last few images make it almost seem as if the ship has viking oars, ha ha.
Speaking of John Berkey, the following painting is one of my favorites of his. However when I look at it now all I think of is...
"Reavers!!!"Intrusion, an Unpleasant Visitor - 1990
Serenity - Firefly

REAVERS!

Well it's done. My PC has reached its limit.
Got the greeble completed around the hangers and that was all that can be done.

Don't let a 'faulty' PC beat the best of you and please don't stop modeling on this one!
Is the filesize too big? Is it your videocard?
There are some work-arounds to keep on modeling on larger builds when SU is working against you

Poor choice of words on my part. SketchUp is crashing. I'm bumping up against the 4 million poly limit.
You do know this thing is a mile long, right? Those "little" shuttles are actually cargo and passenger carriers and can carry four, 40' shipping containers.
No, It looks like I won't be stopping. There are still a few more details to be done, but like I said in an earlier post, there won't be any greebling on the main hulls as that is not the style I'm looking for. But for the most part, it's done.
After I finish the last of the details, a flyby animation in SU and then a final render will be next.

Sepparate the large rounded hull pieces, and copy them in another sketchup file. Detail them appart from your ship and merge them in Kerkythea.

Very nice and smooth motion! How did you do it?

Thanks. I don't think it's all that smooth, but can't complain for something that comes free with SketchUp and is very easy to use.
I just changed the animation settings to enable Scene Transitions to 4 seconds and Scene Delay to 0 seconds then set up 4 scenes:
- Approach
- 2 flyby positions with the camera pointing toward the hangers and the second scene near the engines, but still pointing toward the hangers
- 4th scene as the flyaway.
