Introduction and ? for the experts

I am the art director for a sign company...have been for 30+ years. I've dabbled with SU but now would like to incorporate 3D into my presentations.
I looked through a bunch of tutorials and have not seen this particular thing covered.I can create the face and extrude it but the near and far faces remain vertical and need to
reflect the same approx. 45 degree angle all the way around.
I've tried just scaling the top surface larger but it does not work with this arc'd shape.Could someone give me a strategy for extruding this arched and stepped molding or point
me to a tutorial. Thanks very much.

Welcome to SCF. Are you referring to extruding the arched crown molding? I'm not sure which face you are referring to. Is it a supposed to be a 3D model instead of the 2D thing you've shown? Any chance of you posting the SKP?
Is this what you're after?
This is just a basic Follow Me operation. Well, two different ones. One of the side moldings is just copied and flipped to make its counterpart.
I did this a long time ago that might help for that.

Thanks Dave. That's pretty much what I want to do. I did not consider Follow Me. I will try that as well as looking at how you accomplished the chest design. Very helpful.

Good. Let me know what I missed on your example so we can see what needs to be different to make it "that's exactly right" instead of "That's pretty much what I want to do."
