As Gary said, using the Move tool is a good way to do it. Instead of locking the direction with the cursor keys I prefer to use Shift but both ways work. Shift is a single button that works for any move direction and it is on the left end of the keyboard so I don't have to reach across to to the cursor keys. I didn't lock the move direction in this clip and you can see what happened.

If you prefer to use a plugin to do things you can easily do with the native tools, Pilou's suggestion also works. ๐Ÿ˜‰

        Hi Jasemilly, hi folks.

A rectangle is a 2D figure and cannot have slanted ends. A trapeze looks like a rectangle with two slanted sides.

I assume that you mean a rectangular block.

If so, see this SU file for ideas.

You have not on the right a Shift key near the 4 cursor keys? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Sure. I have a Shift key on the right side of the keyboard, too. But why would I reach across the keyboard with my left hand to hit either the right side Shift key or the cursor keys when I can more easily reach the Shift key on the left? My right hand is on the mouse the whole time.

My left index finger mostly hovers over the Shift and Ctrl keys while I'm working in SketchUp because I seem to be using them so frequently. I tend to use my left hand to activate most keyboard shortcuts and have very few that require both hands so my right hand stays on the mouse most of the time.

How did you conclude that I didn't have a Shift key on the right? It seems like a big leap to me. ๐Ÿ˜•

in some latops for example, the cursor keys are inside the Numeric keyboard ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don't use the cursor keys. There's no need for them as far as I'm concerned. The Shift key works to lock direction no matter what direction, even off axis.

My laptop, a MacBook Pro has the four cursor keys below the right side Shift key and my main machine, a PC desktop has the standard keyboard arrangement with the cursor keys between the main keypad area and the numeric keypad.

                    Hi Dave, hi folks.

Sorry, I could not see the video because of all the blocking software the company is using to stop people from seing videos, hearing music, etc.

I only saw a large white rectangle.
