Request for Ford Focus 2000-2004 Sedan model
-
Hopefully, this is the correct forum for this, or if not, someone can direct me to the appropriate forum.
I am new to Sketchup.
I found an excellent tutorial here: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?22914-DIY-Modeling-a-Car-Truck-in-SketchUp and some less useful ones in the 3D warehouse and on YouTube.
I might try that at some point, but I figure someone familiar with Sketchup could finish the model for me in the time it took me to position the blueprints.
To help - this is just about exactly what I am looking for - but it is not in sketchup and I don't have a paid membership to download it: http://www.3dcadbrowser.com/preview.aspx?modelcode=2546 (preferably without the wing and without fogs, and with detailed headlights - but those things I could either live with or experiment with if someone did the basic model).
Here's a similar one: http://www.movinggraphics.ca/3D_Car_Models.htm (blue car - 4th row down).
Here's a blueprint image: http://www.the-blueprints.com/modules/vectordrawings/preview-wm/ford_focus_sedan_2000.jpg (rear window shape looks off in the top view - Euro markers, but otherwise good).
There are some models in the 3D warehouse that could maybe be converted, but no sedans:

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Try here, type in what you want, they have some great models that are created for SU.

Forgot to mention - I'm really looking for a free model. That site is a good reference, but unless I read wrong, it's $200 for a year to download anything, and the only Focus models they have are a 2005 sedan, a 2004 ZX5, and a 2005 Hatchback.
Anyone else have suggestions?

Well, it sounds bad if you put it that way, but basically - YES.
Keep in mind - there are 176 Ford Focus models on the 3D warehouse - all done for free by someone else and free to download and use. That are 1206 free models by one user alone (mandun - but not all of those are Focuses).
And while the model isn't simple - it isn't THAT complex - especially if you are starting with the hatchback model - the hood, front bumper and front fenders and most of the roof is done - it would just be the rear glass, rear doors and trunk and bumper that would be different (not that that isn't a lot of work!!!)

So there you go. Plenty of options to choose from already. If you can't find one that suits your needs, fix up one on your own. It'll be a great learning experience.
