Windows suddenly not cutting

Hello,
All the windows in my model have suddenly stopped cutting into the faces. There are over 20 different components of windows used and they have all stopped cutting at the same time. Any ideas on how to correct this?

Hi Lisa,

Here is how it works:

But first of all, make sure you did not group your walls leaving the windows out. Cutting only works on bare faces, not on groups/components (or you need to move them inside, too)

Edit: if you indeed grouped your walls and now want to move your windows inside, they will probably not cut again. Then use the above plugin, too.

Thanks! I'll give the plugin a try, it looks like a great tool.

The walls were not being grouped at the time I was working on the model. The window components are on 10 different buildings and were functioning properly til now. But while I was editing one of them earlier, they altogether lost their opening. New components being imported seem to cut no problem.

I have also lost the ability to delete or erase any lines in this model, faces can still be deleted. The lines highlight but cannot be deleted.

I copied and pasted the whole model into a new file and everything is functioning properly now. Thanks!

All right (or I mean not all right really) it seems there was some problem in that file indeed. Actually, copy pasting into a new file often "fixes" issues - but then it's not a very real trouble-shooting either.

I agree. But in the case of working with a deadline, it was so nice to actually have a quick temporary solution. The issue with the eraser and delete button not working was most troubling. I was only able to find one other report of the same problem in my search and didn't see any answers. Hopefully, I don't come across this bug again.

Erase button not working and I'm on a deadline. I'm going to revert back to the previous working 8 Pro version until the bugs are ironed out. This is so frustrating.

What's "not working"? It's very vague. What is happening and what where you expecting? Got a sample model to post? Screenshot? Waiting for next version will probably do you no good unless you provide more info. I've used the Erase function every day on every SU8 release - no issues so far.

There's an erase tool? I make a habit of never drawing a line in error so that I never have to use this eraser tool.
