Fake chrome material
-
I urgently (tomorrow) need to illustrate a chome finish as part of a visual. Actually, this challenge is cropping up more & more frequently & although I have Twilight... (still learning) I usually manage to fake this using SU native metal materials. However, this needs to be one step better. Can anyone suggest a sorce for a fake chrome effect I could use as a base materal?

If its just a texture you want to use in SketchUp and not render, maybe something here will do: https://www.google.se/search?num=10&hl=sv&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1664&bih=844&q=chrome+texture&oq=chrome&gs_l=img.1.9.0l10.1201.2683.0.6655.6.6.0.0.0.0.52.299.6.6.0...0.0...1ac.1.k6kbgp9Ka7U

It's really very simple to apply a chrome/mirror material in Twilight. You can just use a flat colour then apply the material template. Post an image here or on twilight forum and we could help even more, it's really a one minute operation!
This tutorial below shows how to apply materials including a mirror:
A chrome material is hard to fake because it's pretty much pure reflection, you really need to render it to reflect your environment. Don't worry, it's EASY in Twilight!

Thanks Oli - I'll do that. Panic over for today at least (client's changed direction), however, it's something I really need to get to grips with & I'll follow this up.

It really is as simple as click, click, render. Any help you need just ask here or at twilight forum.
