Hello,
Just playing around, I started modeling and couldn't stop! Perhaps it's a shelter of some kind . Rendered in Thea, first time I've used instancing for grass and it's definitely the way forward!
Also attached an image of my setup with Sketchup Curved Tree Lines V1
Just used physical sky/sun and you can position the tree lines wherever you like, can be more flexible than a full hdri at times.
Note there are no horrible halos/fringes around the actual tree lines, SketchUp just shows them like this when you layer PNGs. solution to this here, THANK TO GAIEUS: http://sketchucation.com/resources/tutorials/37-beginner/253-halo-around-transparent-png-files
Comments welcome. Will post a few more renders when they come out the oven.

nice! you'd better share that grass model

Cheers Jason, I'm rendering another view now.
The grass is one single component, instanced in Thea. Do you want the component? I mean, it's just a single blade of grass!
Instancing in Thea is VERY easy. Small tutorial below:

I have posted an improved version of the grass, with a little pale stem in the middle. I just added some reflection and increased roughness to make it look waxy.

Another with the new grass component and different tree line background. Also sorted out the rock material:

A good old clay!

Hi Oli,
a very interesting scene. The grass seems very realistic. You're just an artist.

Thanks guys, i was just having a play, the structure and scene are just imaginary.
Shura, funny thing you commented. You know I had your image in my mind when I was making this...remember your twilight renders of a latticed structure? That was very inspiring to me
