Some vertices are not highlighting to add elevation points

Hi, I am Vikram. Architect from India. This is my first mail to this forum.
I am developing a very large site in sketchup. I have both contour lines and elevation points. I am using elevation points as Contour lines are not so clear. The problem is when i am using "from scratch" sandbox tool, some vertices are not highlighting to add elevation points. I have totally 4000+ points of which after adding a horizontal row of 15-20 points (each at 5 meters distance) few points are not highlighting to add elevation points.plz help me.

It's not quite clear what you are doing and what you are aiming for as a result.
Could you share (part of) the model so we can at least see? -

It might be important if you can describe either in your User Profile or in the text of your reply what version of Sketchup you are using, your operating system, and possibly what type of graphics processor you are using, just in case this may have anything to do with it. -

Welcome! People probably need to get a step by step description of the technique you are using. Working with terrain, one thing I can say is, you may want to get some plugins such as Vertex tools and Artisan.
Are you using the Smoove tool and the selection of vertices is incomplete? Is it possible to make a screen shot?
