Details in Sketchup

Will Google Sketchup allow you to draw details, dimensioned with notations?
-
Details of what? And yes, you can add dimensions and other notations.

Just details in general - architectural sections and details.

Well, yes. You can draw that sort of thing. A Google image would turn up a lot of examples.

I would say that without "LayOut" (provided in SketchUp Pro) it's probably not the best for that sort of thing. You can certainly model a building element accurately in SketchUp alone, but there's a lot of technique you'll have to develop, as opposed to standard CAD packages, to provide good notes, titles, line types, and typical hatches and symbols used in traditional details. Even sheet layout and printing are more difficult in basic SketchUp than a simple CAD or illustration program.
But with LayOut people are making some great traditional and 3D architectural details.
