Texture help

i meant is there a way that just one image could be a texture image for multiple surfaces that are together. (like on the image above)
The closest thing would be to unwrap it in an external app IMO.
Or, on a "boxy" model like that, you could try Jim Foltz´s Unfold: http://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2007/08/plugin-unfoldrb.html

i have tried the unfolt tool and thanks for the link but thats not what i wanted.I want for it to look like this:
this is how it looks,on the left is the model and on the right is the texture image.
and this is what i want to do.Every texture image is for the entire component,so this is how i want to be in SU,so is it posible? to be similar like this? -
Ummm you know what, I would like to know this also, it would be great if you could texturise your model in SU with multiple textures and have it unwrap all the textures onto 1 textile, or 2 if maybe, I wonder is there a plugin to do this with complex geometry, Im not sure if it can be done directly in SU but I'm sure it can be done in an external uv wrapper, maybe some1 could enlighten us, and what is the best freeware uv mapper capable of doing this?

UV Import/Export bridge to external UV mapping software - and that would mean UVTools, or even better, SketchUV.

As Whaat said: ...almost any app that can import and export OBJ files:

I must purchase this sketchuv, a lot swear by it, what are your opinions on roadkill uv mapper?
-
I by no means consider myself an UV mapping expert, but I´m quite satisfied with it for the time being.
One thing I like about it is that the UV view updates automatically with every cut. Of course, that is probably something that doesn´t apply specifically to Roadkill, but I haven´t spent too much time exploring other apps.
Althought that ALT+mouse stuff for navigating is a bit frustrating. -
Cheers numbthumb,

So give it a try and see if it suit your needs.

I guess all of them are good enough, depending on the usage of the user. The free stuff works just fine for someone who´s just getting into UV editing.

cant you use projected textures?
