Hi. I upgraded from 6 to 8 and it works fine, except for one thing:
In 6 the tape measure tool gives a clearly visible black guide line.
In 8 it has become a greyish guideline, which - because my eyes are very bad - is almost impossible for me to see when the object has already materials attached to it.
I have to switch to a plain white presentation in order to see them a little better.
Is there a way to influence the appearance of the guide lines in SKP 8?

      Thanks in advance,

      Rob

Go to Window>Styles and click on the Edit tab. then click on the blue cube below the tabs and to the right. (under the Mix tab.) There you can change the color of the guidelines by clicking on the little colored square. Click on the style's thumbnail to update it.

If you want that to stick for future drawings, do the above in a brand new SketchUp session. then go to File>Save as Template. Give it a name and make sure Use as Default is selected. Save it. Next time you open a new SketchUp session, you should be all set.

          Thanks Dave.
What a good explanation. I will try it right away.
EDIT: So I did, and found out that the line color was solid black! After comparing both versions I saw that the guide lines in SketchUp 8 were thinner than in 6.
I do not know if that can be changed. At least I did not find where I could change that.
