Dejected

Amazing work as usual.
Couple of Q's:
- How do you go about creating your road & paths?
- Do you create your own textures?

Brooke, they look dejected to me, makes me feel like stopping and giving them a lift. I always get a warm feeling inside when I see an old couple holding hands
Trevor, the road and nearest part of the path to the right is PS'ed in using the clone stamp tool and warp tool. I altered a single stone texture (house walls) to make the left hand path, copings, roof tiles and window surrounds, all other textures are native SU. The couple and trees are all made from images, PS'ed into PNG components. Hope I've explained this ok?
thanks

As I very rapidly approach looking like they do and feeling often like they look, I've come to understand the look in a different way. Getting old, being old can get you down and looking down, but in being that you may have the requisite resignation and acceptance and peace. You may do a lot of drinking.
I should do more hand holding and even ride giving, and less drinking. There is couple in my gym who look like your couple and hold hands while at the gym. They rarely show any expression but surely seem as close to one being as I can imagine, and very peaceful if frail. They, neither, look dejected, though.
Feel warm; offer them a lift. Probably they want to walk.

When I said 'looks happy', I was referring to the feeling of your render. Very warm, and not the palette, of course. Lots of trees, little urbanity, blue sky, stone buildings, etc. They look like broadleaf evergreens (darker, I guess is why) but I guess they are not or mostly not.

Nice work, John. Old not necessarily dejected...they got so much between them now, there's no need for outward show.

Thanks John for the explanation, I was begining to think you might have modelled the road. Clever stuff.

Beautiful as always!
-
An elderly couple who have been together for decades, and still have each other to to lean on, as they take a stroll in a bucolic setting. I think contented is the correct adjective....but, then they could be a cantankerous couple bitching how those paving stones in the street are a tripping hazard. Either way, beautimus pictorial rendition.

JohnGreat scene John, I'd say more a case of holding each other up Taking a lift (or ride as the Americans call it) might be refused unless it was in something with super suspension! The cobble stones would, I'd imagine, give a bumpy ride!

Thanks Bryan.
Daniel, I've looked at hundreds of pics regarding Windsor Castle, she's massive! makes Fonthill look like a bungalow I'll have to model a good view instead.
moluasa, hope it helps, PS saves so much time and adds a little polish.
