Retrieving V6 Textures for V7

Does anyone know how to get the texture files from V6 so that I can pull them into V7?

If the textures you want are in a folder in SketchUp 6's Materials folder, simply copy that folder to SketchUp 7's Materials folder. then open SketchUp 7 and they should appear in the list.

Thanks for the reply Dave. Unfortunately, the Materials folder is empty. I'm running on a Mac under OS X - any other ideas?
According to the SketchUp people this can be done, but they cannot (will not?) tell anyone how to do it.

You're saying that Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 6/SketchUp/Materials is empty? Did you create a local library for those materials somewhere else when you saved the materials? If Materials is empty and you did not create a local library elsewhere on your computer, you don't have any materials to retrieve.
Can you see the standard materials when you have SU6 open? If so, the Materials folder cannot be empty.

Sorry for taking so long to get back - things have been incredibly hectic.
To answer your questions - I didn't create a local folder, I simply downloaded and opened the executable. In fact, I've never been able to find the textures in either version, although they appear in both versions. Must be some kind of Mac magic, but I cannot find them even using the search in the Finder.
I know this doesn't help - the next time I go down to the genius bar I'll see if they can find them and post what happens.

I suspect that you need to do something to make the SKM files visible. If you have materials to use when you open either version of SketchUp, the skm file must be there. When you install SketchUp they, by default, end up under the path I described above.

We may be getting closer - the only .skm files I can see are for textures I added. I have discovered that files that begin with a "." are invisible on Mac OS X. I have to go to the Apple store and talk to the guys at the Genius Bar.
I'll let you know what I find out.
