Layout How to get dimensions with feet and inches?
-
I would like to use architectural dimensions with feet and inches. However the architectural style is in inches and the box to change it is greyed out. How do you change the dimension style to feet and inches.

I think file/Document setup/units will get you what you need?

First select the dimension tool. This will ungrey the dimension style tray. Then select architectural and you will be good to go.

I have this same problem. The selection box for inches is grayed out. Selecting the dimension tool or a dimension in the field does not change it from gray, so I am stuck with only inches (instead of feet and inches). What else can I try?

I just found an answer to this in a google forum, thought I'd post it here because this post comes up at the top of search results.
Quoted from the other forum: "Struggled with this as well. There is a dimension style palate found under the window menu (mac anyway) that controls architectural feet and inches when you pull a dimension. Non intuitive as the slashes and line weights are controlled under yet another shape style palate. The document setup directions parroted hear [sic] are a bit of a snipe hunt given your question."
So I found that palette and it, too, had inches grayed out. But when I selected a dimension line I'd already placed in my layout sheet, and then changed the drop down menu from 'fractional' to 'architectural', it switched from 144" to 12' 0". Yippee.

LayOut will take units from the SketchUp model so if you have them set to Architectural in Model Info, they should show that way in LO.
