      Hi there.
I'm new here, so I apollogize for anything I don't know yet πŸ˜„
But I have a litlle tricky problem with my render. I'm trying to render a model in resolution of 5000x3500 pixels.
I knew that Vray has setting to save RAM, so I tried to render to Vray Raw image, both EXR and VRIMAG formats.
It seemed cool, rendering for almost an hour. But unfortunately, Sketchup told me, that rendering is complete, but I couldn't find any EXR or VRIMAG file. I have typed path to a save-file in a row in a "Save to VRI" setting before rendering. So everything seems okay, except of that issue, when I can't find the rendered result.
Did anyone heard of that sort of problem? It's a litlle bit exhausting, render for hours and than realize, there's nothing to work with.

      Thanks so much for advices!
      Tom

Hi Tom, did you type in (or browse to) a filename and a directory path next to the autosave option? Look in the output tab and make sure there's a filename selected. I would do a quick test with a low resolution render first. If you had a filename but no path, it may have gone into some default directory like TEMP or your vray program folder... Hope that helps,

        Andy

Hi Andy. Thanks for your concern.
Well, I tried to render smaller image and it almost worked.
Problem came when I tried to render the same picture into another file with another name.
Then I coudln't find it as I have mentioned in the first post.
Now I'm trying to render my 5000 pixel image to my desktop - I chose that destination in browser that appeared after clicking on that link on the right side of the checking-box of "Render to VRImage".
It seemed fine, but now the Frame Buffer appears to crash (those small rendering-rectangles are not moving) and even my pc seems to be calmer than in a regular render process. I've checked how much RAM uses SU. That surprised me a litlle bit, it shows me, that almost 1,5 GB of RAM is in use of SU right now. Does that mean, it's still rendering? I suppose so, even when my frame buffer has frozen. Any advices to deal with that?
Yeah and I found that in Output slot, under VRI setting is option: VFB mode. What should be in there, and what is it for?
          Thank you πŸ˜„

So I've tried to render smaller images, and after a long time, I found out the destination of TEMP-saving files. That problem is maybe solved.
Now I have another issue. When I've rendered to EXR file, it looked fine, but no HDRi background have been rendered. Is there anny setting of rendering or not-rendering HDRis? Or it is a problem of EXR format?
And the last question is: where can I find some VRIMAG to EXR converter? I thought about possibility, that vrimag could save those HDRis.

            Thank you!
            Tom

try un-selecting the alpha channel in the vfb options. That should give you an exr without transparency.
