Safe places for plugings

I am very new to SU. Are there any particullarly good or bad places to download plugins. I am always wary of downloading things from websites I've never heard of.

Don't download from sites that pirate commercial plugins/software.
Other than that here is fine as is smustard and ruby depot.

The biggest problem with plugins can generally be that they are buggy and crash SU (or affect other plugins' behaviour). When someone posts such a plugin here, the other developers usually warn him and these faults are (mostly) corrected.
