Steven Hight produced this mesmerising piece of work that he posted some time back on the LU forum.
Amazing stuff that reminds me a little of Svankmajer.

Absolutely amazing! Very professional, and more than a little creepy (just the way I like my movies). I loved the soundtrack, and would really like to learn more about this video.

These people look more realistic than the poser stuff. and the mocap is perfect.

Wow! Thanks Adam for linking. The render style of LU is perfect for this.

BTW Jo-ke, this isn't mocap, it's green screen! Meaning the people are filmed before a large green wall and floor then made alpha and post processed to the rendered out scene later with After Effects or Final Cut. Just like the weather guys on the news.

ah OK, that explains why they look so real, because they are real. I was jealous about creating such realistic creatures out of Victoria4 or Michael4.

Hey, that's my video! Thanks for posting here Adam, I appreciate it. (That Svankmajer dude is a little off isn't he?) Thanks for all of the positive responses too.

I wish I had motion capture software, it's really freakin' expensive though and I wouldn't be posting here since SketchUp/LightUp doesn't support it anyway. I would have used it for the camera moves against a marked green-screen backdrop, then matched those camera moves with the 3D scenes. As it was, I did all the camera moves that I wanted with the SketchUp scenes I made, then tried my best to recreate those moves with the actors, basically eyeballing it. The whole thing was made in my bedroom of a one bedroom apartment. My wife wasn't all that thrilled about it, believe it or not...

Hey thanks for tuning in Steven! Mate eyeballing! Do you have just one good eyeball or two? I'll swap you one! I reckon you got darn close, and where it may be a bit off, I'd have actually figured that was intent as it suits well the compilation style.

If I could give one feedback, the only thing I didn't love was the weird edging to the thought bubbles, this seems just that bit off yet I'd have no suggestions.

To be honest, the opening scene and the style of grabbed me by the nuts!! FREAKIN LOVED IT! I was in hook line and sinker to know I was going to see something exceptional!!

My eyeballs are pretty busy right now, but I'll let you know if they're ever available. In addition to eyeballing the live action scenes, the camera was on a tripod and stationary, so the camera "movements" were actually done by the actors being directed by me.

The thought/dream bubbles by themselves were lost amidst the background scenes and the outlining was the only solution I found to get them to stand apart from the background. I do see what you're saying though, cheers.

Your enthusiastic response to this is great, Thanks Richard! Since I sunk a ton of my own funds into this project and don't anticipate making any of it back, the verbal responses I receive mean everything! They are also a deciding factor towards me doing a follow up story or not.
