Liam,
Congrats on the office. Those chairs are great! Since I got one, it's like "chair" doesn't exist in my environment, if you know what I mean. I am really unaware of it, as I am totally comfortable and get up without aches or sore butt. (Never had back issues before leaving my manual labor and going into an office). Get or make some sort of foot rest too.

I know exactly what you mean, I have had terrible back/neck pain sat at a normal chair. Everybody in work said to get a riser for my laptop as I dont have a desktop. Have you ever used one?

Screen height is important. If you are using the laptop as main screen, don't. get a 30"-42" I have found that proper height and position can solve most problems. When I first thought I was going to get CTS I experimented with phone books for my Mouse pad height. Since then, I have found the correct hand position and mouse for me (Razers and a Razer sphex skin), and usually have no issues (and phone books never make it into my office anymore). I also began to have neck problems when I first used CAD, but have learned to avoid that as well.
To imagine someone with your talent designing on a laptop screen. It's criminal.

I (was) travelling across the country every week for nearly a year so a laptop was my only choice. In a few months after I have saved some money I am going to get a Wacom CIntiq and a tower. But just moving house right now so very short on cash!
My setup will be Cintiq then laptop on a riser with wireless keyboard and mouse. The ciniq will be a secondary screen for the laptop but I will use it as my main. Eventually I will then upgrade to a tower (Money permitting)!

is that a $700.00 chair?
-
Hope they are not skid marks on the seat (although it looks comfy for that, too)

Its an Aeron, they cost over $1500 (Β£950) http://www.johnlewis.com/230627151/Product.aspx although I have seen them in the UK for Β£750 online new.
However I bought it second hand from gum tree for a fraction of the price as it has a few scrapes on the metal and some marks on the seat but that doesn't bother me as I would never buy one new!

Thats why it was so cheap!

Why do you have to buy your own chair? I thought you were employed?

Its for my house not work, when I said office I meant 'office room' in my house.
Actually I havent moved in yet so its just a chair in my kitchen!!
