      hello all,

      i have two questions:

1 - in the computer centre in our university there is sketchup 8 installed, but i cannot load my custom plugins. is there any way to tell sketchup to load plugins from a different folder (eg. my USB stick) without needing administration rights?

2 - is there any way i could save the toolbars' position in sketchup window on my pc, and then load this UI setup in the school computer (preferably also avoiding the need of administration rights) ?

thanks very much for any answers.
      ~Adam

      I'm using SketchUp 2017, V-Ray 3.4

        Hi Adam,

1 - Yes. After SketchUp is finished loading, open the Ruby Console from the Windows menu. Type in:

        require_all("e:/plugins")

(Assuming your portable plugins are on a device named e:\plugins.)

2 - Not exactly. You should be able to save and restore your toolbar positions on the school computer. After you load your portable plugins and organize your toolbars, use the Save Toolbar Positions item in the View > Toolbars menu. Then next time you load your portable plugins, you can use the Restore Toolbar Positions item.

Note: not all plugins will work correctly from a location outside SketchUp's default plugins folder.

        Hi
