Chris fullmer shape bender
-
I tried installing chris fullmer's shape bender as the directions stated, yet i can still not use it. It won't even load in my plug ins. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Has there been a thread explaining how to fix this (that i missed)?

Go back and read through the Shape Bender thread. It has been addressed ad nauseum there.
In a nutshell the problems is either you installed it incorrectly despite what you think you did or you haven't got admin rights to install files into the Plugins directory.

lol, ok sorry for this. I must have missed the original thread. Thank you.

How did you miss the original thread? That's where the plugin is located for download.

I did a search for the best sketchup plugins and then linked back to the thread to get them. I have done searches in the forum areas and i normally get either "no results" or too generic results, in the end, i leave empty handed. Please do not take this as me being ungrateful. I am just trying to navigate the site.

OK, I am sooooo sorry. I missed that i needed progress-bar and other things to make this work. I feel ridiculous now.I saw that they needed these items but thought they were included in the zip files.

There is a basic "rule" here: no-one should re-share others' plugins so that's why it's not included in the zip file.

Is there a reason to this?
Just to know. -
Well, apart from courtesy, the author may update the plugin any time and it is best to get it from the original source rather than from several posts scattered on the forums.

Of course.

I've had a hell of a time trying to get the plugins to install on my program as well. I thought I could produce a quick 3D graphic with wrap-around text for a work project, and realized after a few trials with applying an image of the text as a texture, as well as extruding the text through the cylinder, etc... that SketchUp does not come equipped with this capability. I found your Shape Bender Ruby Script plugin and thought I was set to go, registered for the site, entered my companies administrative passwords, and tried multiple troubleshooting techniques to get the plugin to install (ie. examined the folder hierarchy ad nauseum, tried changing the zip file extension to rbt, etc...). It looks like none of the plugins for the program are active...? Waiting for the IT to help. Any more fun tricks?

Did you unpack the zip archive? Here is a guide for zipped plugins:
