[Plugin] Add Scene Layers
-
Is there a plug-in out there that creates a new layer for each scene you have in a model? If not Iβm sure it can be done, just wondering if something like that would be worth the head ache of doing.
EDIT: See here for the solution http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=356915#p356915 TIG
Thanks Kurt

Do you want 1 new layer created for each scene?
And ALL geometry put on that layer in each new scene, wich means that you only have 1 layer totally to begin with in you scene.Otherwise I can only guess you want a new "set" of layers for each new scene.
Could become a lot of layers
You can not nest layers for what I know.Oh, and maybe this can help.

Just a new layer for each scene named to what the scene is named. All other layers I guess stay the same. The problem I'm running into is I'm using the plugin Parts --> Scenes which makes a scene for every component in the model. I would like to dimension those components in each scene. The prefect idea would be say I have a model with two components, one called car and the other called truck. Once I ran the parts-->scenes plugin I could then run this other idea plugin that would add a layer called truck and a layer called car. Maybe even hide the truck layer in the car scene and vice versa.
Thanks Kurt

This old tool http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=345385#p345385 adds a piece of text on screen with the scene's name and puts it on a new layer named after the scene that is only 'on' in that scene and by default it is never 'on' in new scenes made later.
You can use it to add that scene specific layer and the screen-text if you want it.
To do it en mass use the ALL version or on the active scene...This massaged version misses out the text and just adds the layer...AddSceneLayers.rb Note that you can edit the code to change the new layers' prefix, which by default is 'SCENE-' so that they all list together
