Shaping round objects
-
Hello all,
As a newbie to sketchup, and to this forum I'd like to start a question that I can't seem to figure out myself. I've been trying different approaches to my problem, from trying to visualize a car to drawing random objects.
The question: How do I shape a curved/round object like a car? Is there any useful tutorial movie about this? I've watched several movies of people drawing cars, but I can't seem to figure out what it is they're doing that allows them to create a shape that is curved.
Hope you guys can help me out here so I can get along practicing!

there are a lot of ways to create curved shapes in SketchUp and the exact process you use is dependent to some extent on the shape. It might be that Follow Me will do what you need or you might stitch curves together manually. There are a number of plugins that will automate the stitching process based on the curves you have. You could look at TIG's Extrude tools and Whaat's Artisan or TGI3D. Take a look in the Plugins forum as well as the Organic forum for more information on these sorts of tools.
