    Is there an option in layout like this

    for example a box is resting on a cylinder.

    I cut a section through the cylinder, so the box is shown in hidden line denoted by dotted lines in plan.

      The Help files are amazingly informative. I think you should utilize them.

        well dave my question is that whatever things are invisible in the section, layout automatically makes them dotted. I couldn't find answer in help page.

          It won't automatically make dashed lines. You have to set them to be dashed.

          You didn't ask but if the section view is coming from SketchUp, explode it and then change the desired edges to dashed lines.
