      Hi all,

      I drew some circular posts under a floor surface. On the top of the floor, the circle outlines show up. I hid them, but "ghost" outlines still show up when I orbit around. Is there a better way to get rid of those circles from the top of the floor view? Thanks.

        Hi Rose,

        Those "ghosts" are actually the faces of the cylinders somewhat bleeding through a single face floor due to antialiasing being never fully perfect on computers.

        The only "real" solution would be to add some thickness to that floor - just as it would certainly have some in real life.

            That sure is a simple solution of simply adding more thickness to the floor in order to get rid of the “ghost” outlines of the circles we see on top of the floor!! Sometimes, we feel so foolish when some of the questions we ask are answered with just simple solutions like this one here!!

              Sometimes, even adding thickness isn't enough if the covering surface is fairly thin, like a thin sheet of ply overlying some support beams. You find as you zoom out that the underlying beams start to show through the surface.
              This is a feature of SU itself...the fact that the edges don't get any visually thinner the further away they get. Therefore, what might appear to be an edge as thin as a human hair if you are zoomed right in becomes as thick as a girder if it's hundreds of yards away. The only solution is this case would be to actually hide the top edges of all the beams...or turn off edges altogether. There are also one or two styles that can mitigate the effect.
