Thinking about VUE
-
So im thinking about getting VUE, its pretty expensive and quite a few versions not sure which one is right for me.
A lot of you guys are using it so what would you suggest? Pros, Cons etc. I downloaded a trial version a long time ago and found it very tricky to navigate although to be fair I didn't really sit down for too long as it was a busy time.Esprit, Studio, Complete and PLE are the versions I can see. So if anybody has any input please let me know.
Cheers
Liam

Why not email them and ask for extended trial? Most companies are quite receptive if they think a sale could be made.
I think Pete says Complete is the way to go.

I will email them although on the trial version you cant save any files which is a pain in the arse, I know ill have to learn it inside out eventually so might as well cut to the chase and buy the whole thing.
Yeah I was thinking about getting studio as I dont think ill be doing animation any time soon, but utilizing it within my commercial digital painting. I remember talking to Pete a while ago about Vue but forgot everything he said haha.

There is another (kind of) trial version where you can save files - just cannot open with the normal version (so do not spend much time on some real project). Pete needs to chime in. He's a beta tester there (I think) so knows all ins and outs.

I'd recommend it if you do any outdoor/natural environment renderings, Vue makes those a treat to do. I have Complete version 8 which I got when it was on sale, but now I'd get Infinite ($995) if you can afford it because it comes with all of Vue's plants and more...I hope to upgrade very soon.
Here's some more advice on Vue... http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=31903&hilit=infinite

I knew there was a thread on this. That's one stupid search button up there. I can never use the damn thing

haha after all these years didnt even notice the search bar!! Ill wait till I get back from America in October and then buy it as it will eat a lot into my savings if I buy it now as I have just been introduced to the world of bills and council tax

Liam,
What do you want to use it for?
I guess it all comes down to what you need, I needed the complete but thankfully I got the Infinite instead as it gives me everything I needed and more that I now use.
One thing I can think of is your space ships and science fiction models, Vue is the only app I know that renders space and can create planets out of the box.

Pretty much the latter, im just looking for scene genration, vegetation etc for my helicopter scenes and such and of course all the sci fi work. I think ill probably go with the complete and in time I can always upgrade if needs be.
Thanks
