4 viewports?

hi
it is possible in sketchup to draw as in Rhino with 4 viewports? front, top, left and axo?
it is much easier to draw organic shapes the way.Thanks

No, it is not possible since SketchUp (SU) is not the same kind of modeler.
SU is a full 3D sketching software. It gives you one viewport that act, in fact, as an infinite quantity of viewports since you can orbit, pan and zoom continuously, even during a drawing or scaling or whatever, operation.
If you really need a top view, a face view, etc., you can use any of the standard camera views. Set the mode to parallel projection id the perspective distracts you from the intended result.
Personnaly, I find that a top view, a face view and a side view give me only three choices and this is too restrictive. What about the other side, or the back, or the bottom. What if the iso view is not oriented in such a way as to show an intricate detail.
With SU, I can get the exact view that I need to draw or to show a model. If I like a view and I think I might need to use it again, I simply add a scene to record that view. I can have as many scenes as I want in a model and, since they can retain the camera settings, including perspective mode or parallel projection mode, I can set scenes to give me instantly a top view, a face view, etc, and also any oriented view that I want or need.
Take a look at the video tutorials and at the help on these subjects (views, scenes, camera).
Just ideas.

I was just thinking about this again today - it is possible that this could be done by having multiple instances of SketchUp open (on Windows); and multiple models open on a Mac.
It would work if you model using Components in the "main" view and have a plugn that saves all Components to disk.
Then the other instances of SketchUp would be running a polling plugin that checks for updated files and reloads them.

Rhino windows are basically the same as using SU views w/parallel projection turned on (but they also have their construction planes set according to the view. Fwiw, you can set the views (and how many you want) to whatever setup you need. There's also a perspective view which is like sketchup's window which is where most people tend to do their modeling(and it's easily switched to being the only view displayed at full size etc)
One of the main advantages with the multiview (that I highly doubt could be incorporated into what Jim is saying) is that you can start a command in one view and finish it in another. (ie- drawing a simple line-- click the start point while in perspective then mouse over to front view for the second click). This definitely makes certain operations much easier to accomplish.

Right - my idea is strictly a one-way process. The other "view" instances of SketchUp would be strictly for viewing updated components. Changes in any of the "view" instances would not be relected in the "main" instance.
2-way interaction could be done using a network connection; and if you note the threads in the Dev forum about UDP and Socket programming, we could maybe get the idea someone is already making something similar (collaborative SU) a reality.
