Building Models
-
I have been a member for sometime but never had the time to learn SketchUp until now.
What I am doing is building a model in sketchup that I am going to lasercut all of the pieces to build a 1/4" = 1'-0" model for display. I have made all of the pieces components and now I am laying them down flat to export a dwg file that I can import into Corel. Corel is what drives my laser cutter. Is there a plugin that will automatically select the components and lay them flat? If anyone has done this before I would like to hear any pointers that you may have.
Attached is the file that I am working in.Thanks

Hi Larry,
It seems to me that there is a plugin that will do what you need but the name escapes me. I'll do some hunting but someone else may come up with the answer before I do.
In the meantime, I had a poke at your model. I noticed a wee little line segment in the Left Side Wall component. You may need to deal with that in your model. I don't know if it will matter for your application but you may also need to adjust the axes for some of the components so the bounding boxes fit the geometry.
