      In the image, I am editing a Group with the "Hide Rest of Model" option selected. When zooming, you can see parts of the model which lie outside the editing context flash when I zoom or orbit. SketchUp is really doing a lot of unnecessary work in this case. And oddly, the parts I am interested in seeing (inside the Group) are being hidden.

        That looks like the adapive degrading's boundingbox. I think I've seen that as well on occasions when it occurs. Doesn't seem to adhere to the Hide Rest of Model setting.
