Webdings?
-
I'm trying to incorporate a webding symbol into a 3D text, but only the regular text comes out, not the webding font. What do I do?

I just tried this on my PC. The webding won't display in the 3D Text box but it does insert as a webding. I see that doesn't work on the Mac, though.
What symbol are you after? The font is the same on both platforms so Iit could be made on the PC and saved as a component to import into your model on the Mac.

Charly, as I said, it works just fine on the PC. It does not work on the Mac.
It would appear that SketchUp on the Mac won't display TTF fonts. Webdings is a True Type Font.

Hi,
here an example how it works. You have to use the windows character Map. Select the symbol and copy it. Insert the symbol into the Sketchup Text Box with "Ctrl + V" and place it.

Success!
I found a free online font converter service which will convert TTF fonts to OTF. The converted Webdings font works just fine although I found I had to restart SketchUp after installing the OTF version of the font in the Font directory. Unlike on the PC, on the Mac, the webdings actually display in the 3D Text window as you type.
