Excellent!! I really like how you have used a Low-Poly body, while using more polygons in the detailed area. That is a sign of a great modeler.

        Cheers,

And the interior is about 90% complete as well, Rather sparse but this baby will be great for Fps ,shes a total of 37000 polys.

Thanks Tadema & Crankston πŸ˜„, I hope you guys have a copy of the sim πŸ˜„
Exterior is Baked and in game,She loads instantly as I had hoped with 5 1024x1024 textures and 1 256x256 for the lights,Ive found that grouping the lights into 1 texture also saves fpss and loading time. Not having it in 1 texture would cost (on this particular mesh) 4 draw calls instead of 1,and with the directional light + specular lighting in game that is x3 ,so a saving of 9 draw calls on the lights alone, now if you are getting low fpss with your boat in game, now you know why πŸ˜„

brilliant, as always. note to self: low poly body, high poly detail = good modelling πŸ˜„

Beautiful model. I have a fixation on the Paraguay war (1865/70) and have been playing with the idea of modeling some of the ships and ironclads that fought in it. But I don't have your skills, and I don't have the complete plans either. I enclose some images of one of the ironclads, before and after entering in battle. The "Brazil" was built in France. It was ballasted for battle so that it offered less of a target, and the masts were also removed before entering the fray.
                              Advice welcome.

Another beautiful boat. Thanks for showing the wire-frame. I love seeing the start to finish renderings.

"All that reading on modeling"... What did you read?

If I may, do you get on the water yourself? You seem to know so much about boats.

Regards and thank you for the posts. It's always inspiring, though I can do nothing of this sort.
