Recently I had to create a concept design of a hotel for Bombay Sapphire as part of my BA (Hons) Degree. I am happy to say I received a distinction

I thought I would share the animation I created using SUP, VRAY and the flightpath2 ruby script. C&C are welcome & I hope you like it.

This should probably be in the Gallery. Right?

Nice modelling and a cool video. Congratulations too. πŸ˜‰ One thing, the animation is kind of rigid. (e.g. sharp, quick 90 degree turns) I don't use this plugin so I don't know. πŸ˜• It just made it seem a little robotic. Other than that, it looks awesome. πŸ˜„

It's a great piece of work.

          My minor criticisms would be,

you have a couple of sections of the animation that are superfluous, for example the section moving through the corridor where you only see the tops of the doors.

and the thing that jumped out at me is the clash of styles between the model and the artwork.
I would rather see the artwork more in keeping with the rest of the structure and less photo realistic.

Now I'm trying to think how to finish this, looked at it, liked it and just wanted to give you some specific feedback.

Thanks for the comment and I apologise for posting in wrong thread 😳

I agree with the comments about the jerky movements and the slightly wrong eye level in some parts. I hope to try out the SU Animate plug-in on my next project to see if it is any smoother. Has anyone ever used this plug-in?

              Robert.

I'd personally have kept the video all render, shorter, and added images of layout, design within the video.

The camera is too high, jerky and slow.

It takes under 30 seconds to sell anything, after that the customer is either bored or wants to see more and better.

Glad you did well, and hope you use this experience to grow.

Really nice video, however, I agree with Solo that the camera jerky and slow in some scenes and is too high in other scenes - or should have had another FOV...

Nevertheless a nice video and renders...

BTW - Bombay Sapphire is my favourite gin brand... πŸ‘

I agree with what many have said and Pete (Solo) is right, you have 30 seconds MAX to sell this or any project with an animation. Anything over 2 minutes is like making a customer watch a full legth feature. The vast majority of customers will want to see great pictures and a shorter video. I typically print some really nice shots to leave behind as well.

                    Tough crowd πŸ˜†

I hear what your all saying and thanks for the c&c. A full, animated walk-through was required so this is the only reason it was produced in this length. I agree with the points mentioned (jerkyness, eye height and so forth) I'd of sooner have produced a much smaller animation as creating one of this size was no fun.. It had to be done in many different sections due to the 1000s of scenes created. Hopefully my next animation will be smoother.

I enjoyed the video! Congrats! The music kept me watching too. The sample used in that track is from one of my favorite old school songs.
