Hello! I love this forum and from reading through all the posts, there are some really savvy Sketchup users here... so pardon the elementary question here...

I'm having trouble having plugins load automatically in Sketchup (Pro 8 Mac.) I have the as_loadpluginloader.rb which allows me to manually load these plugins easily. I have found that the ones that are in folders don't load automatically. If I take them out of the folders they do, but then I have other issues because it's messy.

Any suggestions? What's your process for loading plugins? It isn't really just as easy as putting in the plugin folder.

    Thank you!

      Welcome Amber.

Plugins are supposed to be in the Plugins directory (folder) unless they are files to which another script refers. In that case those files must be in folders named exactly as the write of the plugin named them.

Why can't you just put the plugins in the Plugins folder as they are intended to be?

Thanks for the response Dave. I think you asked the question precisely. I don't know why I can't just have the plugins in the folder and be able to load automatically. Maybe I need to download other plugins in addition to them.

        Thanks, Amber

Are you putting them in the Plugins folder? i.e. Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/Plugins

Have you gone to Preferences>Extensions and ticked all the little boxes?
