I've been experimenting with a quick tree modelling method to use in a games asset tutorial. I've got this far with simple steps, but now to get any further it's going to get too complex. Please could I have comments and suggestions? Are any of these alright as they are? If not, which of these would you go forward with - if any - for more tweaking?

they look like nice models, well textured, but....

to be honest they do not have the same shape as most trees i am used to - a lot of trunk and not much foliage - maybe you are copying a particular variety? maybe you could post a picture of something you are using as inspiration?

Thanks Stuart. Actually, I was just winging it with the trunk. I'll have a go with a reference image like you suggest and see if it turns out better.

Another attempt. Here I've thinned the trunk and spread the leaves out more evenly by using two different branch components rather than just one.

Taken the main branches to a point. Added some colour variation in the leaves - but I think I've over done it. Concentrated leaves at the tips of the main branches. Still don't like those main branches.
