DC "jumping" when moved/rotated
-
Hi all -
I have a DC I've created, and, among some custom attributes, I have the LenX, LenY, LenZ, RotX, and RotY values being controlled through the component options.
When I rotate, and move my component, it always rotates about the Z axis to it's original orientation, relative to the model axis (not the component axis).
I can't figure out why it is doing this, because I don't have RotZ, or any position attributes enabled in the component.
Any ideas?

Could you post the model with the component in it?

Try one or both of the following:
Rotate the component about the Z Axis, then move the component, and it resets to the original Z rotation.
Or, rotate the component, and create a copy of the component. The copy will return to original Z rotation upon placement.
I suspect both issues are from the same root problem.

Did anyone have any idea about this issue, I've got the same problem.

Your problem (fortunately easily solved) is that Sketchup can't deal with multiple rotations in the x,y and z planes for components; I'm not sure why but the other rotations are always set to 0 when a change is made.
To fix this simply create a new top level component with your solar panel inside it (draw a line, box, whatever, select it and the panel component and 'Make Component'; you will then need to ask your questions in the new component rather than in 'Sharp 235' and have the values in 'Sharp 235'; C_Tilt_Angle for example come from the new top level component.
I hope this helps. S

Updated model attached. You may need to play with the Portrait/Landscape orientation.
