Unable to import GE terrain more than once in SU 8.0.4811
-
Has anyone else come upon this problem? - I'm using SU 8.0.4811 - (didn't have an issue in previous SU versions)
Here's the break-down:
- Open a new file
- 'Add Location'
- Attempt to add another piece of adjacent terrain
- Add Location 'pop-up' in SU appears, but remains white (as if loading). I have waited for hours thinking it something might happen, but nothing.
- This occurs on both Mac and Windows sides of my computer.
- I have removed all plug-ins from the plug-ins folder, in case of some conflict, but the problem still occurs
- I have also tried at different scales and locations, with no success.
- Opening another new file always 'resets' the problem, but still, I can only import one piece of terrain
Sorry if this has already been identified elsewhere...
Any thoughts?

Hm. I have never had any issue with this but now as I tried, the same here. And I am not even on the same OS as you are (the build - SU 8 M1 - seems to be the same though).
Your profile says you (also) use Mac (SU 8.0.4811 is the Windows build). Do you experience it on the Mac, too?
(I think I should move the topic to the bug reports...)
-
Hm. Maybe. I'll need to ask. I'd've asked for your IE version but if it is also a Mac issue...
-
ah, yes, sorry (on windows as i typed)
the problem occurs in both Mac and Windows - each are the latest version of SU (8 M1).
'glad' to hear it's not necessarily a user specific error on my part... a bug introduced with the maintenance release?
edit: if you could move it to Bug Reports i'd be grateful.
thanks, gaieus!

So as I learned it's a Warehouse bug and the solution is coming.

thanks for your help, gaieus!
i ended up also submitting a bug report and heard the same. in case others have this problem, here is the reply, including a workaround:
"We're aware of this problem, and our engineers
are currently investigating. We hope to have this resolved in the near
future. Currently the only workaround for this issue is to go to Window >
Model Info > Geo-location and choose "Clear Location" to remove the
existing georeference before trying to add a second geo-located image.
This must be done between each image inserted as the limitation is with
the existing geo-location information." -
Same happening here.....Add more imagery produces whited out window.......however the reccomendation to clear location deletes my in model current image/terrain.
If I set my in model imagery/terrain to another layer before each addition..... I can then clear location and proceed adding imagery.....and of course creating a new layer for each addition.

Yep. Happened to me, too.
There's a suggestion for Macs in the Google help forum (Gaieus was there, too)
"To anyone else searching for this, go to user->library->preferences and delete all com.google files."I'm using SU Pro 8.0.4811 + numerous rubies on Win 7 64 bit
A quick search for this string (com.google) gave no direct matches, but some with "com80-kh.google" - which look like some sort of licence or authorisation file so I'm reluctant to kill'em.If its relevant, I'm using Firefox as browser, but there's a feral IE somewhere there too.
