Editing one component - seeing textures on other components?
-
I want to align textures on one component with those on several others (using Texture > position) but when I edit the component all other components turn grey/untextured.
Is there any way to have textures display on everything while editing one component?
Thanks.

When you change any one copy of the component, all other copies are automatically updated with the change. Any changes while in the context of the component affects each component instance and the component definition. There is really no need ( I don´t even know if there is a way ) for all of them to have textures displayed while editing.

In addition to what numbtumb has posted, you can explode the component (breaking its relationship with other instances of that component), then edit the necessary texture, while none of the other components are grayed out.

First question could also be interpreted as: .....all other completely differentcomponents with same texture turn grey/untextured.
If so, you need to apply extra geometry (edge or guide) outside editing context by eyeballing, to mark how you do want to make changes to the textures position.
See simple example in attached file:
pre-marked texture position for aligning with neighboring group.
