Vray Materials
-
i recently begin using V-Ray for SketchUp..
i found some vismats to use but there is a question i want to ask..
this vismat "Arch_green-grass.jpg" seems very cool for grounding.. but when i use this i didn't get the effect seen on the jpg.. is that jpgs overrated or am i doing something wrong..
just seconds ago (when i'm preparing a sphere for here) i realized it is a scale issue.. how can i fix that.. when i use it on a large scale how can i make it seem like it on that sample jpg ?

You can ask better here ...
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewforum.php?f=322 It is a Vray Subforum -
Thanks Burkhard, I have now moved the topic there.

No problem - I should have noticed when I approved your first post. Let's hope, someone knowledgeable at V-ray will soon chime in.

scaling textures for vray is done with the native texture scaling in SU. just right click the face with your material, choose 'texture' and then scale away. or better yet, in the SU material dialogue, adjust the exact measurements of the jpg image.
you can change the displacement parameters in the material to determine grass 'length.'
i suggest searching for related questions at http://forum.asgvis.com as the topic has been covered numerous times and in more depth than i have here. that's the best place to get answers to your vray related questions.
