              If you are aiming for a "low size" model, extensive use of components, along with reducing arc/circle segment count could help.
              Also don´t forget a 'Purge Unused' operation: Window > Model Info > Statistics > Purge Unused

                Add this to list: Delete internal faces and edges concealed within the model volume if not pertinent to final result. That means editing groups, components, or loose geometry intersecting, piercing, or enveloping other stuff.

                I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.
