SU Extension Manager/Launcher for Windows
-
Update Jan 03 2011
Experimental code - this HTA app makes changes to your Registry. Use at your own risk!
I wrote this Windows application to help control some of the many plugins I collect, and sometimes even use. Maybe someone will find it useful, too.
It allows you to select Extensions to load before launching SketchUp. It auto-detects all the versions of SketchUp you may have installed, and selects the most recent by default. Selecting a different version updates the extensions list to the selected version.
Pressing Cancel closes the dialog without updating the Registry. Pressing Launch updates the extensions in the Registry, then starts the selected version of SketchUp.
Download SULauncher.zip (contains single .hta file.)

I think I fixed it, please try again.

Good idea. As it is, most plugins do not use the Extensions feature of SketchUp. Maybe something like this will make it more appealing to users and authors.

Hi,
A few words about how to install, what's an HTA app, would be nice, too.

An HTA application is pretty much like a Webdialog for Windows. It's powered by HTML+CSS+JScript and VBScript.

Hi,
Thanks TT, my request was not for me, but for other users

It's a wonderful asset! The correspondent menu from Sketchup is so tiny... I just hated it; I can barely see five extensions... and when list goes larger is annoying. So, your intervention was just divine!
Thank you! And I wish you a Happy New Year!
You could add a description section for each extension, in a future version, if other users will find that useful.

Thanks!
What I'd like to add is a tree outline view and support for "Extension Groups."
Then authors and users could keep related plugins grouped by folder, and use an extension group to enable/disable all at once, or individually. It'd keep the Plugins folder less clutterd, too.
Unfortunately, I need to move on to other things for now. The source is there, if anyone is interested in making improvements.

I don't recommend using this (my own) app. I added a warning to the first post:

Slow loading or slow performing during work?

Slow loading, slow minimizing, slow resizing, slow focusing.
