Copy and paste slots in vray materials
-
Hey, in 3dsmax (among other softwares) you can copy a materialslot in the materialeditor-window and paste it (as either a copy or an instanced)into another one, it would be very useful if you could do this in vray for sketchup, since you sometimes want two identical procedural maps in two of the slots and not just in one. Does anybody know any way to go around this problem?

That would be a nice feature. Things have gotten so much better with vfsu in being able to arrange the layers within the materials. Most of the time, if I need something from another material, I load whichever is the more complicated material and then manually copy settings from the other one.

I don't use vray for SU but within SU's Materials panel if you click the Create Material button it basically copies whatever material is current in the panel and lets you choose a name. I'm not sure if that would do what you want or not. Maybe there's another method but I'm not totally clear on what you want. I'm familiar with how 3ds max works with materials, but why would you want 2 identical textures?

Make a feature request at ASGVis. I'd also like to see such a feature.

This is within the vray materials editor - things like reflection and emissive layers, etc. It would save time to be able to copy these layers from one material to another.
